Picking the wrong area is a common travel mistake: a hotel that looks central can mean steep hills, late-night noise or a long trip to the sights you came for. We compare neighbourhoods before you compare hotels.
What we do
- Neighbourhood guides. For Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Porto, Seville and Málaga we describe the main areas visitors stay in: their character, what is nearby, the metro and tram lines, who each area suits and its downsides.
- Practical rules. Tourist taxes, airport transfers and rules for holiday apartments, from city councils, regional governments and transport operators.
- Booking sites compared. Cancellation, payment and loyalty terms of the big booking sites, from their own published terms.
What we don’t do
We don’t invent hotel reviews, star ratings or “we stayed here” stories. Hotel prices change every day, so we don’t print prices that would be wrong tomorrow. We help you choose the area and link to live listings, where you see current prices and real guest reviews.
